Rental from hell

ImageSaturday I rented a Ford Transit van from "Lej et lig" (Rent a corps), I needed to drive some old furniture to the recycling station and deliver my old bed the 150 km to Odense where my parents live. At the recycling station I took a picture of the van because I found it in so poor condition that I felt I should throw it away. Anyway the brakes and engine felt strong enough, so I was on my way. 12 km outside of Odense, the temperature meter suddenly went off scale, and the engine started coffin. And went completely dead seconds later. I parked between the highway and a offramp, and the van then started smoking vapored water (even in the cabin). Since I was unable to locate the lever which pops the hood, I called the helpline from the rental company (expecting they had an emergency auto service). I finally found a string which I pulled and opened the hood. The engine was as dry as a desert. The offramp which i parked next too, came off a resting place and a ran back too get some water. I only had 2 half liter bottles so I had to ask people for a few more. I then spend a lot of time filling 9 liters into the van, all which completely disapeared with some burst of vapored water. I then called the rental again and declared the van for dead. He then advised me to get a cab the last 12 km home and take the train home (they paid for this).

Moving in

Today I'm moving the rest of my stuff, I'm nearly there since I've moved 3-4 boxes every time I came over. I've also received my bed, which turned out to be huge and fill 70% of my bedroom. I'm already considering in getting a smaller one. On next Thursday my new used sofa is coming, which has been nearly a month in delivery! Also I'm getting my mountain bike up from Odense, were it has been sitting idle for nearly a year, because I had no proper place to parked it. The new apartment has a lovely bike cellar where I have no issues parking it!

ImageToday were working Saturday to upgrade our BRS archiving system. And just outside of Børsen there was this amazing Aston Martin DB9 again. Its just such a wow car! I cannot believe its drawn by Dane, thinking that we have no history of building sport scars. Its absolutely awesome! I could not help taking a few pictures this time, and I'm wondering who owns it (I want a ride).

Daddy's home

Two days ago my Dad came home after neatly 5 weeks in hospital. We needed to have a carpenter over to widen the door to the bathroom to fit his wheelchair and build some ramps. He's still not mobile by him self and has trouble getting in and out of bed. So we have got a lift which is used to put him in chairs and out of bed. 4 times a day my mom is visited by nurses who help take care of him, which would be a huge task for my mom alone. It all looks rather promising, the big thing is though if he ever will regain his walking ability. He's getting training 3 times a week, and his feet are improving but his left arm is still immobile. But all in all were happy, and proud that he survived the massive trauma.
